About the Forest Lawn Foundation

Forest Lawn Foundation makes contributions to qualified charitable organizations (exempt under IRS Section 501(c)(3)), generally in the greater Los Angeles area. For additional information, review the Foundation's guidelines.

In response to the recent turmoil in financial markets, the Foundation dramatically reduced the number and amount of grants made in 2009. In 2010, grants were only made to fulfill prior commitments and a reduced number and amount of grants has continued in 2011. The trustees have now developed new grantmaking guidelines and strategy for the Foundation, resulting in confirmation of the policy of only considering grants by invitation.

Although the Forest Lawn Foundation shares part of its name with the non-profit Forest Lawn Memorial-Parks & Mortuaries, the entities are independent of each other.
